Description

Finally finished my drawing of Robert Knepper, known from Prison Break and Heroes and so on.
Did this drawing of him so I could have it signed by him at London Film and Comic Con 2011. I also gave him a copy of it, which he thanked me for.
He said it was "very interesting" and that I should make drawing a career as well. :)
Took about 6 hours with photoshop.

Anyways, hope ya'll like it.

I'm not very good at critiques for portraits because realism isn't my forte, but I hope I can at least offer a bit of advice! As far as placement and depiction of the facial features go you did a really great job - everything's in nice proportion and nicely colored and textured, especially the fabric on the collar. I'm most impressed with the depth there.
My initial issue with this was how the hair behind him kind of blends muddily with the rest of the background, which is itself a little distracting. I would go for a simpler/smoother gradient with less of a speckled effect, because it doesn't really seem to fit with the mood of the piece. Something to show his shadow (for depth) and contrast so that id doesn't blend in with a lot of the detail (thus washing them out) might work better.
Also, the outlining in places like his left (right, for us) shoulder is also a bit distracting, but that's just being nit-picky I reckon.
Overall, really nice work!
